A free 30-minute video call with our team. We review your symptoms, your photos, and your history — and we give you a clear, honest answer about whether you have lipedema, what stage it is, and what the right next step looks like. No pressure. No pricing pitches. Just clarity.

Why the first visit is free

Most women with lipedema have spent years and many appointments trying to be heard. The last thing we want to do is put a paywall on the first conversation. The free consultation is our way of taking the first step toward you — so you can decide, with a clear head and no financial commitment, whether The Lipedema Institute is the right practice for what you need.

What happens on the call

1. Welcome & agenda (~3 min) — a clinician introduces themselves, confirms what you want out of the conversation, and answers any quick questions.
2. Your story (~10 min) — when did you first notice the changes, what’s the family history, what triggers (puberty, pregnancy, perimenopause) have you tracked, what’s already been tried, what hurts and where.
3. Photo & checklist review (~7 min) — we look at the photos you sent in advance and the diagnostic checklist you filled out, and we ask focused follow-ups.
4. An honest read (~5 min) — we tell you whether what you’re describing is lipedema, what stage you appear to be at, and what the realistic options look like.
5. Next-step plan (~5 min) — a clear, written plan goes home with you: conservative care first; surgical evaluation later, if appropriate; or “this isn’t lipedema, here’s who you should see.”

What you’ll leave with

• An honest stage assessment (or “this is not lipedema, here is what we think it is”).
• A written summary of what was discussed.
• A specific next step — usually a conservative-care plan you can begin immediately.
• Time to think. We never ask you to commit to anything on the call.

What to send in advance

A short symptom note, your completed diagnostic checklist, and standardized photos (we send instructions when you book). Don’t worry about getting any of it perfect — the more we have, the better we can use the call, but we’ll work with whatever you can put together.
