Travel & lodging

Most of the women we treat travel to Scottsdale for care. We’ve organized the practice around making that as predictable as possible — including a travel-and-lodging support program for qualified out-of-state patients. The goal is to take the logistics off your plate so you can focus on your treatment and recovery.

How the travel program works

We coordinate the logistics of an out-of-state surgical journey directly with you. That includes:

  • Flight planning — recommended arrival/departure timing relative to your procedure date and recovery requirements (typically arrive 1 day before, depart 5–10 days after, depending on the session).
  • Lodging coordination — vetted recovery-friendly hotels close to the clinic, with rooms and amenities that work for someone wearing compression garments and walking gently in the first week.
  • Airport ground transport — booked in advance so you don’t have to think about it after a long travel day.
  • Local pharmacy and grocery coordination — so the basics you need post-procedure are within reach, not a separate errand.
  • A local Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) for in-Scottsdale MLD sessions during your stay, scheduled before you arrive.
  • A return-home CLT in your area — we identify, contact, and brief them ahead of time so your recovery is continuous when you fly home.

Who qualifies for travel support

Qualification depends on your surgical plan, your stage of care, and the distance you’re traveling. The candid framing: we offer travel-and-lodging support to patients for whom we have agreed on a multi-session surgical journey with us, where coordinated logistics meaningfully improve clinical outcomes and safety. We do not have a pricing-based menu — we have a clinical-care plan, and travel support is part of how we make it work for out-of-state patients.

Practically: this is a conversation we have during your free consultation and then revisit when a surgical plan is in place. There is no application form to fill out before we know what you actually need.

What “qualified” actually means

It is not a financial threshold. It’s a clinical one. Patients with a confirmed multi-session plan with us, traveling from out-of-state to Scottsdale for those sessions, where end-to-end coordination is a meaningful safety and outcomes investment, are who the program is designed for.

If you’re driving / local

A meaningful fraction of our patients are within driving distance — Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, San Diego, even Albuquerque. For those journeys we coordinate timing and provide the same recovery-friendly logistics, scoped to a road trip rather than a flight.

Practical things to know about Scottsdale

  • Climate — dry desert heat in summer (100°F+), mild and comfortable November through April. The dry air is friendlier to compression garments and lymphatic recovery than humid climates.
  • Airport — Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX). Roughly 25 minutes from our clinic.
  • Lodging — we recommend the hotels we recommend because of the specifics: elevator-served floors, supportive beds, in-room kitchenettes, walkable surroundings.
  • Recovery environment — gentle walking is essential post-op. Scottsdale’s flat sidewalks, year-round walkability, and quiet pace make it well-suited to that work.

Companions

We strongly recommend a chaperone for the first 24–48 hours after surgery (it’s a requirement on the day of the procedure). Most patients bring a partner, sister, mother, or close friend; some travel solo and we arrange professional post-op support. We work with you to make whichever model works for your life.
